Burnout Stages for Teachers
Burnout is a process. Nobody ends one day perfectly happy at work, and then wakes the next day burned out. It happens over time.
Here’s how the process goes.
- Physical, Mental and Emotional Exhaustion
- Shame, Self-Doubt, Loss of Confidence
- Cynicism and Callousness
- Crisis (This is the part where you quit your job or take some other drastic action.)
The reason I’m posting these is so you can stay aware of where YOU are in your career. Once a person starts down the path of burnout, there is no reason he/she has to continue down that path.
