I know, I sound like a broken record

This is your weekly reminder to take care of yourself.

If you aren’t doing something for yourself on a regular basis ( and I don’t mean once a month) you should be.  You can’t count on someone else to do this for you.

Yesterday, I did something for myself above and beyond my norm.  It was my birthday, and a friend had given me a groupon for a massage months back.  I finally got to use the groupon for my birthday.  Blue Sky Wellness was a metropolitan oasis!  They are tucked away on north Portland’s Mississippi Avenue. I was treated to an unexpected surprise – apparently there has been some revitalization in that area.  I want to go back!  The massage was absolutely lovely, and I highly recommend it.  They offer not only massage, but also naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, and are looking at adding a chiropractor.

Now, you don’t have to do anything that pampering (though I’m thinking once in awhile is probably not a bad idea for you!) – sometimes it’s a matter of just giving yourself permission to have some quiet time to yourself.  Time with a cup of tea or time to read a book you have been wanting to read.  Time to talk with people you haven’t seen in awhile.  Those things don’t have a financial cost, and still allow you to relax, to rejuvenate, and to get back to your baseline.
